I4SUGAR
INDUSTRY 4.0 FOR SUGAR
I4Sugar aims at providing a demonstrator in the Sugar industry of Industry 4.0 deployment using Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sensors for predictive maintenance.
The aim of the project is two-fold: to provide access to Industry 4.0 technologies to the Food sector by reducing production losses due to unplanned maintenance on monitored assets and to extend the lifetime of battery-powered IIoT sensors.
IIoT sensors will be enhanced with energy harvesting capabilities to extend the lifetime beyond the state-of-the-art. The project will combine technologies already on the market to showcase and raise the acceptance level of IoT in the industry.
The project will improve the currently used Industry 4.0 solution from I-care by enabling energy harvesting capabilities provided by E-peas technologies for energy harvesting and power management.
