NOSEY
iNternet Of partS 4.0 aErospace visibilitY (NOSEY)
The NOSEY project represents an exciting consortium to provide increased visibility of transactions between three Aerospace focused organisations representing key functions within the supply chain; a Tier 1 supplier in PattonAir, a technology enabler Parts Pedigree, and Manufacturing SME Advanced Manufacturing (Sheffield) Ltd. The concept provides a unique application for IoT in a manufacturing context, by transforming the manufactured component into a web enabled object, forming the basis for increased value in the Aerospace supply chain. Whereas traditional IoT offerings often focus on capital equipment or the surrounding environment in manufacturing, the principle aspect of this project focuses on the ultimate revenue generating aspect within manufacturing, the component itself, and places it into the internet as “The Thing” in IoT. By utilizing a novel encrypted data sharing protocol application in Parts Pedigree (PP) that has been developed specifically to perform this function, AML will partner with PP and Pattonair to form a pilot digital value chain for the Aerospace sector.
