FactorySense: Industry4.0 Business Dashboard for Small Factories

FactorySense offers a complete solution for Small and Medium Sized companies to go Industry 4.0. Including detachable and versatile IIoT sensors, a digital business dashboard and data analytics, with the necessary advisory and installation support. FactorySense is joining the best of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sensors in combination with a business intelligence platform to enable Industry 4.0 on the basis of big data and analytics in a cost sensitive way.

FactorySense is a solution including hardware, software and services by integrating VersaSense (BE) IoT sensor kits into Factorythings – Optimistik (FR) platform.

FactorySense supports many different use cases : factory automation monitoring, production processes, horizontal and vertical integration, condition based and preventative maintenance, equipment effectiveness, both for traditional production companies with legacy and analogue equipment - not digitally connected and only partially automated factories – up to relatively modern fully automated and connected factories. The FactorySense platform aims to digitally connect selected parts of the production shop floor and administrative support systems.

FactorySense provides a template-based-model “Small Digital Factory” using a generic Digital Transformation Plan (DTP) – Industrie 4.0 Map (I40 Map) for small manufacturing companies on the basis of existing use cases. It provides in a Digital Business Dashboard, defining key business drivers to create situational awareness, allow for specific insights (eg condition based maintenance) and support in decision making.
FactorySense has been demonstrated and validated in a Wood processing company in Belgium and has furthermore been further deployed in agro, building materials, food, machine building – make industry, chemical processes and packaging solutions, and is about to be deployed in utilities, textiles and many other vertical domains.
